How to level up quickly in Pokémon Go
Whether you are new to Pokémon Go, or a veteran player, anybody could do with a little more experience. It isn’t until you max out at level 40 that your pokémon can be powered up to their max potential. So why not get there as fast as you can?! Following the next seven Pokémon Go tips will give you plenty of experience and boost your trainer level like nothing else!
Evolve your pokémon
Evolving pokémon is an excellent way of boosing experience. Evolving just one pokémon will give you 500 experience; you will also get an additional 500 experience if the pokémon you evolve hasn’t yet been recorded in your pokédex. Lots of people are stockpiling candies and pokémon without even realizing it! If you search ’evolve’ in your pokémon storage bag, you will find a list of all pokémon that you can evolve. Do special research tasks
Completion of special research tasks can give a wide variety of rewards. But if you are leaving them uncompleted, you are surely missing out on thousands of experience points! Special research tasks in Pokémon Go are limited, so be sure to read the rest of this page to figure out how to not let this untapped resource go to waste.
Hatch lots of eggs
Hatching eggs is a great way to receive experience. Depending on what kinds of eggs you regularly have, you may be missing out if you forget to keep your incubators full. Hatching eggs of different distances will give you different amounts of experience, so be sure to be deliberate in which eggs you choose to incubate:

One thing you might have noticed is that a 10k egg will give you significantly more experience than a 7k egg, without requiring you to walk double the distance. A quick calculation will show you that 7k eggs are not that good if you are focused on getting lots of experience. Keep in mind that catching new pokémon will give you a good experience boost, so pay attention to when eggs can hatch pokémon you don’t have! Use a lucky egg
Lucky eggs are a great way to boost your experience since they double the amount you collect! This goes without saying how valuable they are. Make sure you are consistently gathering pokécoins so you can afford these useful items from the shop!
Play the game daily
So many tasks in Pokémon Go drastically increase your rewards if you remember to do them every day! Just like in our article about collecting stardust, you will be happy to know that completing daily tasks will give you substantial experience boosts!

Combine all the tips!
If you implement this final tip, you can get to level 40 faster than most other trainers could imagine. The concept here is to simply time all of your experience collections to happen at the same time. This way, if you combine your experience collecting with a lucky egg, you will be able to get thousands of experience points daily.
Let’s walk through an example scenario:
Preparation:
- Get near a gym that has an active raid (we will assume 1 star for this example)
- Put as many 2k eggs into regular incubators as you can
- Ensure you currently have a 6-day streak for catches and pokéstop spins, don’t spin or catch for the 7th day yet
- Ensure you have saved special research tasks that reward lots of experience, but do not collect the rewards yet
- Activate your lucky egg when you are ready to continue
Experience farming
Now that you are ready, complete the following tasks as soon as you can
- Battle the raid boss
- Spin the gym pokéstop
- Catch a nearby pokémon
- Walk 2 kilometers to hatch your eggs
- Collect your special research rewards
- Evolve as many pokémon as you can before the half-hour is up, or evolve pokémon as you are walking to hatch your eggs
Example calculation
Assuming (1) the raid was 2 star, (2) you had 4 2k eggs, (3) you could evolve 15 pokémon (4) you completed 3 special research tasks, you would collect 37,400 exp in 30 minutes
Get creative with your combinations and watch your experience skyrocket!
