How to get Evolution Items
Evolution Items can be unlocked and become available to find once you reach level 10 in the game. Only the lure modules (Glacial, Mossy, and Magnetic) can be purchased through the store. To learn more about lures see our previous article: Pokémon Go: Eevee Evolutions.
All of the other Evolution Items must be found by visiting random Pokéstops. This is the most common method to find the Dragon Scale, King’s Rock, Metal Coat, Sun Stones, and UpGrade. Sinnoh Stones and Unova Stones are the most difficult to get as you can earn them as rewards for Research Breakthroughs, PVP battles, and Team Go Rocket Battles. Although it is determined at random, one way to guarantee that you will get an Evolution Item is by completing 7-day streak spins.
How to use Evolution Items
Evolution Items are a single-use item only, so save them for specific Pokémon you want to evolve the most. To use an Evolution Item follow the steps below:
- Tap on the Pokéball menu button at the bottom center of your screen.
- Tap on the Pokémon button at the bottom left of the screen.
- Tap on the Pokémon you want to evolve.
- Tap on the second/bottom evolution button.
- Tap on the screen once ‘Use this item on your Pokémon’ appears with the specific Evolution Item.
- Enjoy!
