Eevee is a normal-type pokémon that was introduced in Generation 1. There are currently seven Eevee evolutions in Pokémon Go, but fans continually create other Eevee evolutions to create art and spread inspiration. There is also an eighth eeveelution, Sylveon, to look forward to that Pokémon Go will be adding during the Generation 5 release. The current seven eeveelutions include the following:
Espeon: Psychic-type Flareon: Fire-type Glaceon: Ice-type Jolteon: Electric-type Leafeon: Grass-type Sylveon: Fairy-type Umbreon: Dark-type Vaporeon: Water-type
Eevee Nicknames
Once you have a minimum of 25 candies, you can use the following nicknames to ensure that you evolve Eevee into the Eevee evolution you want. Please keep in mind that you can only use each nickname once, but do not worry. There are other methods to guarantee some of the Eevee evolutions you want.
Espeon: Sakura Flareon: Pyro Glaceon: Rea Jolteon: Sparky Leafeon: Linnea Umbreon: Tamao Vaporeon: Rainer
Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon
Unfortunately, for the original three eeveelutions: (1) Flareon, (2) Jolteon, and (3) Vaporeon there is no alternative way of guaranteeing their evolutions. Despite this, Eevee is a fairly common pokémon, so you will have plenty of chances to receive these three eeveelutions.
Alternative Methods: Espeon and Umbreon
The alternative method to using the nickname trick, for Espeon and Umbreon, includes walking them as your buddy. Once you catch an Eevee that you would like to evolve, simply add him or her as your buddy so he or she can walk with you. Once you have walked 10 km with him or her, you will be ready to evolve him or her. To turn Eevee into Espeon, evolve it during the day. In contrast, evolve your Eevee at night if you wish to turn him or her into Umbreon. You can double-check the relative time of day, in the game, by the color of the sky instead of your current location.
Alternative Methods: Glaceon and Leafeon
The alternative method to using the nickname trick, for Glaceon and Leafeon, involves using a Pokéstop and specific lures. If you want to turn Eevee into Glaceon, simply go to a Pokéstop and apply a Glacial Lure to it. For Leafeon, do the same, but use a Mossy Lure. If you do not already have these lures, you can purchase them in the game for 200 coins each. Also, the specific lures will work like typical lures with the exception that they will attract specific types of pokemon and allow you to evolve your Eevee into either Glaceon and Leafeon. Once you have applied the specific lure, you can evolve your Eevee. You can double-check that your Eevee will evolve correctly by looking at the silhouette of the evolution button before evolving him or her.
Try it Yourself
Try either the nickname trick or the alternative tricks to evolve your Eevees as you build your Pokémon collection. These tricks will surely help you collect all of the Eeveelutions much quicker and easier.
