If you have lots of pokémon to filter through ordering by favorites or recent is a good start. Still, there are many more powerful queries you can do to search through all your pokémon.
If you haven’t been using the search bar at the top of your pokémon storage, this post will give you a few quick tips on how to get the most use out of it!
Checking Pokémon Species
Suppose you wanted to look through each Bulbasaur you caught. You can search Bulbasaur and retrieve each one.
Now let’s suppose that you wanted to search for each Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur so that you can get lots of Bulbasaur candy to power-up your best Venusaur. How can you go about this? Quite easily, in fact, with the ‘+’ modifier in your search. Take a look at the image below for an example.
The Special Evolve Query
Often times, we want to evolve lots of pokémon either to get experience or complete quests. Sometimes we might not even know what pokémon we would be able to evolve if we wanted to. Fortunately, there is a unique keyword that you can use to pick out all evolvable pokémon. Check out the example below!
Other Keywords
As you might have been able to notice, some shadow pokémon have appeared in my query for pokémon that I can evolve. You might be asking yourself what other keywords exist? Well, there is a lot you can use! Try out some of the examples below and see what you get!
- Shadow
- Purified
- Shiny
- Lucky
- <TYPE> i.e water, fire, ghost
Chaining Queries
Finally, I want to leave you with one last tip. You can combine any of these queries, and many more that you find, together! If you’re going to separate your questions, do so with a comma. And if you wish to combine them, do so with an ampersand. Take a look at the final examples below.
fire, water -> returns all fire type and water type pokémon
fire & ghost -> returns all pokémon that are ghost and fire type
Try Them Out For Yourself!
I hope you learned something useful in this post about performing queries for your favorite pokémon. If you have, be sure to add yourself to the mailing list so we can let you know when we have more tips and adventure updates!
